The Most Beautiful Candy Store in the World!

If you're like me, I love old architecture. Today's works cannot hold a candle to the workmanship of days gone by.

When I stumbled upon this image, I nearly fell out of my seat. It was located in the Phelan Building at 770 Market Street in San Francisco, and deemed "The most beautiful candy store in the world." It was George Haas and Sons Candy Store.

If you click on this image,  you could really see the detail full-scale. Note the candy counter on the left, the soda and ice cream counter on the right, and sit-down service in the rear.

Sigh...we'll just have to dream...sweet dreams...

Happy Monday & Heads Up!

I'm so excited to share our upcoming new arrivals to be unveiled tomorrow!

I recently attended an exclusive estate sale in San Francisco. It was beyond anything I've ever seen. It was the home of a former antique dealer who collected the most unusual and exquisite pieces. There were so many items--it was overwhelming.

From mirrors to 19th century listed artist paintings, the house was filled to the brim!

This bed (above) is an 18th century Dutch bed. Handpainted and quite unusual.

Sterling silver filled the tables of this home. I've never seen so much in my life. This photo is just a small portion of the hundreds of pieces, some which will be featured at my sale tomorrow.

More items; candlestick collections, inkwell collections, weights, clocks, you name it!

So be sure and visit our shop tomorrow at 8:00 am PST/11:00 am EST...See you then and have a lovely week!

Charming Typography Pendants

I don't know about you, but I'm the type who never wins contests. Never.

One day I stumbled upon a blog contest offering these pendant creations by Laura Tarrish from Bridgetown Papers and left a comment. A couple weeks later I was notified that I had won!

This diminutive bottle which is about 1.25" high contains tiny letters cut from metallic card stock. Laura fills the bottles with initials or names that you like (up to 50 characters). Could be a secret message or names of loved ones.

Laura also adds the option of including a single gold icon (above) to the mix.

If interested in purchasing one of these darling pendants, email Laura Tarrish at tarrish@bridgetownpapers.com. The price of a pendant is $35.

Thanks again Laura for my sweet treasure!
